2018 Individual Player Evaluations (IPE) - 1 SESSION IS MANDATORY
Individual Player Evaluations is an opportunity for a player to be reviewed on their softball skills and be placed on a team with similar skills and abilities. IPE's will be held at The Cages (1353 Larc Industrial Blvd, Burnsville, MN 55337) on March 10th from 2-4PM and Sunday, March 18th from 9AM - 11AM. Players are only required to attend one IPE, but may attend both sessions. The IPE's score will be averaged between both tryouts. Players should wear pants, tennis shoes, shirt (without a name), and bring your equipment. NEW THIS YEAR - IPE fee is part of the registration to play with Burnsville Fastpitch. If a player is not placed on a team, the team registration will be refunded minus $35 for the tryout fee.
Jersey's & Apparel
Players will be trying on jersey tops at Individual Player Evaluations on March 10th or March 18th. The cost for the jersey top will be paid at the Mandatory Parent Meeting on April 3rd. It is important that your daughter is sized for a jersey top to get our order in on time and delivered by May 1st. If you prefer your daughter to wear her jersey from 2017 season, you are not required to order a new one. Burnsville Fastpitch Apparel will be available soon!
2018 Fundraising Requirement
The financial success of the program is a direct relation to your efforts with past fundraising. Our largest fundraiser is the success of the Burnsville Fireball Tourney. Due to unpredictable mother nature which could put a damper on budgets, we will be implementing other fundraising this season. More to come during the parent meeting in April.
2018 Volunteer Requirement
ALL parents that have a daughter playing in the program are required to volunteer 8 hours per family. Four (4) of the hours will be guaranteed at the Annual Fireball Tournament held May 18-19 and four (4) hours are for other parts of the program (individual player evaluations, fundraising events, winter workouts, etc). The revenue from this tournament helps keep our program cost down. The funds help pay for items such as fields, equipment, tournament, winter training, and much more. Your volunteer deposit of $150 is collected at the parent meeting on April 3rd. The checks will only be cashed if your volunteer hours are not fulfilled by August 1, 2018. Department FAQ: Will my daughter receive individualized instruction?
YES!!! Each session has a limited number of girls and ages allowing for group and individual instruction throughout the session.
Does my daughter need to be from the Burnsville school district to participate? ---NO!!! All kids are welcome!!!
What should I bring? ---Every clinic you must bring your own catcher if you are attending one of the pitching sessions. If you are attending the catching sessions you must bring your own gear. Each player should be wearing athletic clothes (ex. t-shirt and shorts). No cleats are allowed on the gym floor so you must wear tennis shoes. EVERYONE BRING A GLOVE!!!
Format: Beginning weeks will be creating baseline fundamentals for all levels of pitchers and catchers, while still receiving individualized instruction. As the weeks progress, each pitcher/catcher will receive more and more individualized attention so that EACH pitcher/catcher can achieve the most individual progress over the sessions.
